Today, Switzerland lies on the southern edge of an extensive high-pressure area over Scandinavia. With a weak to moderate bise, quite dry and warm air flows into German-speaking Switzerland. Along the Alps and towards the west, temporarily moister air flowed in during the night, especially in the middle layers.

The air mass is drier, it should be another quite good day.

We are stuck in time between drying and renewed formation of cumulus clouds with local showers. We have to place the start in such a way that we can fly dry into the lower part of the valley. I therefore suggest that we do the briefing as planned at 10:30 a.m. and wait at most 1/2 to 1 hour up there. It's an attempt, I can't promise we'll get a valid task done.

Die Schweiz liegt heute am Südrand eines umfangreichen Hochdruckgebiets über Skandinavien. Mit einer schwachen bis mässigen Bise strömt recht trockene und warme Luft zur Deutschschweiz. Den Alpen entlang und gegen Westen hin ist in der Nacht vor allem in den mittleren Schichten vor übergehend feuchtere Luft eingeflossen.

Am Vormittag rasche Auflockerung der Restwolken und Bildung von
- 2-4/8 mit Basis 2300 m (Stans)
- Engelberg um 2700 m
Am Nachmittag lokale Schauer. Maessige Sicht.

Die Luftmasse ist trockener, es dürfte nochmals ein recht guter Tag sein.

Wir sind zeitlich leingeklemmt zwischen Abtrocknung und erneuter Bildung von Quellwolken mit lokal Schauern. Den Start müssen wir so legen, dass wir trocken in den unteren Teil des Tals fliegen können. Ich schlage deswegen vor, dass wir das Briefing wie geplant um 10:30 machen und allenfalls oben 1/2 bis 1 Stunde warten. Es ist ein Versuch, versprechen kann ich nicht, dass wir einen gültigen Task hinkriegen.
