CIVL Plenary 2026
The annual CIVL Plenary has come to an end.
The agenda included many discussions and amendments to the motions during the meetings.
Four of the six Swiss motions were approved. The reduction in the number of participants in Cat 1 events was not accepted. The motion to switch from GPS altitude to QNH for evaluation was rejected. The reason for this is likely to be the complexity of the issue.
A big thank you goes to Jörg Ewald, who drafted the Swiss motions and was praised by the CIVL for his professionalism.
The most important changes:
- GS ballast, as in 2018, maximum 33 kg.
- GS weight class up to 95 kg is introduced.
- Definition of sports class wings.
- Scoring at H&F events is defined.
- Protectors for paraglider harnesses with new G values.
- Elevated Goal is introduced as an option.
In order to make the motions clearer, I have not mentioned the irrelevant motions.
Please note that the motions were amended during the meeting. The approved version of the motion can be found at this link: Annexes
