SRS Le Grand-Bornand 2026 - Task 6: Hochspannung, Geduldspiele und ein Schweizer Podest-Feuerwerk
Nach fünf erfolgreich absolvierten Durchgängen bot der 82 Kilometer lange Final-Task nochmals Hochspannung bis zum Schluss. Bei extrem stabilen Bedingungen glänzte das Schweizer Team: Pascal Blum erflog Rang 2, und in der Gesamtwertung feierten wir Top-Ten-Plätze, einen Podestplatz bei den Frauen sowie sensationelle Teamerfolge durch Gin 2 und Alpine Wings!

Der Start und die erste Streckenhälfte
Bei strahlend blauem Himmel, schwachem Wind und wolkenlosen Bedingungen stand für den sechsten Task eine knapp 82 Kilometer lange Strecke auf dem Programm. Die Route führte von Le Grand-Bornand über die ikonischen Wahrzeichen von Annecy, wie die Dents de Lanfon, Parmelan und Tournette, zu den Aravis-Bergen und wieder zurück ins Ziel.
Im Gegensatz zu den Vortagen waren diesmal nicht der Wind oder eine schwierige Linienwahl die grössten Herausforderungen, sondern die ausgesprochen stabilen Bedingungen und die niedrige Thermik. Bereits beim Warten auf die Startfreigabe am Roc des Tours stiessen die Pilotinnen und Piloten buchstäblich an die Inversionsschicht. Nach dem Start führte der Weg über ein anspruchsvolles Lee am Mont Lachat de Thônes zur Tête de Turpin. Von dort ging es weiter zu den markanten Klippen des Parmelan und schliesslich zu den Dents de Lanfon, wo ergiebigere Thermik wartete. Nach dem Passieren des Wendepunkts bei Talloires folgte ein klassischer, schneller Flug entlang der beeindruckenden Parmelan-Klippen.
Die Schlüsselstelle am Montmin und der Tournette
Besonders knifflig wurde es auf dem Rückweg vorbei an der Lanfonette hin zum Startplatz Montmin und der Tournette. Hier verlangte die schwache Thermik den Piloten extrem viel Durchhaltevermögen und Feingefühl ab. Die Passage über die Tournette schien anfangs fast unüberwindbar, da die Aufwinde schlichtweg nicht hoch genug reichten. Wer hier den Anschluss verlor, musste beim nahezu fruchtlosen Hangaufwindfliegen hart um jeden Höhenmeter kämpfen. Gelang es jedoch nach langem Geduldsspiel, genügend Höhe zu gewinnen, warteten noch entscheidende Thermiken, die es sauber auszunutzen galt. Erst dann war der Weg für den Übergang in Richtung der Aravis-Kette frei.
Das schnelle Finale und die Schweizer Glanzleistungen
Ab dem Erreichen der Aravis öffneten sich die Bedingungen spürbar. Die Thermik wurde von Kilometer zu Kilometer stärker. Der Flug nach Norden entlang der spektakulären Bergkette konnte im Vollgas und fast ohne zu kreisen absolviert werden, bevor die Piloten zum letzten Wendepunkt und schliesslich in den Zielzylinder nach Le Grand-Bornand flogen.
Das Schweizer Team zeigte unter diesen anspruchsvollen Bedingungen eine herausragende Leistung! Pascal Blum erflog sich im sechsten Task einen sensationellen 2. Platz. Auch Gaëtan Gerber als 8. und Frédéric Monnet auf Rang 11 bewiesen mit ihren Top-Platzierungen absolute Weltklasse. Bei den Teams sicherte sich das Team Gin 2 (tatkräftig unterstützt durch Marco Sommerfeld und Simon Steiner) den Tagessieg im Task 6, während das rein schweizerische Team Alpine Wings den starken 3. Platz belegte.
Gesamtwertung: Podestplätze und Teamerfolge
Ein absolut krönender Abschluss für eine exzellente Flugwoche! In der Gesamtwertung spiegeln sich die grandiosen Leistungen wider: Pascal Blum (9.) und Simon Steiner (10.) erkämpften sich souverän Plätze in den Top Ten. Bei den Frauen flogen Linda Hoch als Gesamtdritte und Sarah Zimmermann als Vierte herausragende Resultate ein. In der Team-Gesamtwertung durften sich die Piloten des Teams Gin 2 (mit Sommerfeld und Steiner) über den sensationellen 1. Après cinq manches réussies, la finale de 82 km a offert un suspense haletant jusqu'à la fin. Dans des conditions extrêmement stables, l'équipe suisse a brillé : Pascal Blum a décroché la 2ème place, et au classement général, nous avons célébré des places dans le top 10, un podium féminin, ainsi que des succès par équipe sensationnels avec Gin 2 et Alpine Wings !
Le départ et la première moitié du parcours
Sous un ciel bleu azur, avec un vent faible et sans nuages, un parcours de près de 82 km était au programme de la sixième manche. L'itinéraire menait du Grand-Bornand aux repères emblématiques d'Annecy (Dents de Lanfon, Parmelan, Tournette) jusqu'aux Aravis avant de revenir au but.
Contrairement aux jours précédents, le plus grand défi n'était pas le vent, mais des conditions très stables et des thermiques bas. En attendant le départ au Roc des Tours, les pilotes butaient littéralement sur la couche d'inversion. Le début de course a nécessité la traversée d'un sous-le-vent exigeant au Mont Lachat de Thônes vers la Tête de Turpin, puis vers le Parmelan et les Dents de Lanfon où des thermiques plus généreux les attendaient.
Le passage clé au Montmin et à la Tournette
Le retour par la Lanfonette vers le Montmin et la Tournette s'est avéré particulièrement délicat. Les faibles thermiques ont exigé énormément d'endurance et de finesse. Le passage au-dessus de la Tournette semblait presque infranchissable au début, car les ascendances ne montaient tout simplement pas assez haut. Ceux qui ont perdu le contact ont dû lutter durement. Mais une fois l'altitude nécessaire acquise avec patience, des thermiques décisifs permettaient enfin de transiter vers la chaîne des Aravis.
Le final rapide et les performances suisses exceptionnelles
Dès l'arrivée sur les Aravis, les conditions se sont nettement ouvertes. Les thermiques devenaient de plus en plus forts et le vol vers le nord a pu se faire plein barreau, presque sans enrouler, jusqu'au cylindre d'arrivée au Grand-Bornand.
L'équipe suisse a réalisé une performance exceptionnelle ! Pascal Blum s'est offert une sensationnelle 2ème place sur cette manche. Gaëtan Gerber (8e) et Frédéric Monnet (11e) ont également prouvé leur niveau mondial. Par équipes, Gin 2 (avec Marco Sommerfeld et Simon Steiner) a remporté la victoire du jour, tandis qu'Alpine Wings a pris une solide 3ème place.
Classement général : Podiums et succès par équipe
Une conclusion couronnée de succès pour une excellente semaine de vol ! Le classement général reflète ces performances grandioses : Pascal Blum (9e) et Simon Steiner (10e) se sont assurés des places dans le top 10. After five successful tasks, the 82-kilometer final task provided high tension right to the end. In extremely stable conditions, the Swiss team shone: Pascal Blum took 2nd place, and in the overall standings we celebrated top-ten finishes, a female podium, and sensational team successes by Gin 2 and Alpine Wings!
The Start and the First Half of the Course
Under a bright blue sky, with light winds and cloudless conditions, an 82-kilometer course was on the agenda for the sixth task. The route led from Le Grand-Bornand over the iconic landmarks of Annecy—such as the Dents de Lanfon, Parmelan, and Tournette—to the Aravis mountains and back to the finish line.
Unlike previous days, the biggest challenges were not the wind or tricky lines, but the very stable conditions and low thermals. Even while waiting for the start gate at Roc des Tours, pilots were literally bumping into the inversion layer. After the start, the route led through a demanding lee at Mont Lachat de Thônes to Tête de Turpin, then on to the striking cliffs of Parmelan and the Dents de Lanfon, where more productive thermals awaited.
The Crux at Montmin and Tournette
Things got particularly tricky on the way back past Lanfonette to the Montmin launch site and the Tournette. Here, the weak thermals demanded an extreme amount of endurance and sensitivity from the pilots. The passage over the Tournette initially seemed almost insurmountable, as the lift simply did not go high enough. Anyone who lost connection here had to fight hard for every meter of altitude. However, if they managed to gain enough height after a long game of patience, decisive thermals paved the way for the transition towards the Aravis chain.
The Fast Finale and Brilliant Swiss Performances
Once reaching the Aravis, the conditions opened up noticeably. The thermals got stronger by the kilometer. The flight north along the spectacular mountain range could be completed on full bar and almost without circling, before heading to the last turnpoint and the goal cylinder in Le Grand-Bornand.
The Swiss team showed an outstanding performance under these demanding conditions! Pascal Blum flew to a sensational 2nd place in Task 6. Gaetan Gerber in 8th and Frederic Monnet in 11th also proved their absolute world-class level. In the team rankings, Team Gin 2 (strongly supported by Marco Sommerfeld and Simon Steiner) secured the daily victory, while the all-Swiss Team Alpine Wings took a strong 3rd place.

A crowning conclusion to an excellent flying week! The overall standings reflect the grandiose performances: Pascal Blum (9th) and Simon Steiner (10th) confidently fought their way into the top ten.
