Warm and humid thunderstorm air until furthermore. The timing of the small troughs is crucial. It is very difficult to make a medium-term forecast. At the moment we can make the following forecast (with low-medium probability of occurrence):
Monday afternoon, evening rain.
Trough in the night to Tuesday and on Tuesday evening. Therefore already clouds in medium hight on Tuesday morning.
Precipitation in the mountains from noon. But Ober-Wallis? I wouldn't write off the day quite yet.
The wind would be ok (up to the low cloud-base)...
Wednesday the forecasts are quite good. It should be nice and dry until later in the afternoon.
Wind ground to 3000m ok (base is probably about 3300), at 4000m brisk SW wind.
In the evening again small trough.
Thursday to Saturday the centre of the trough is a bit south, so we expect taskable weather. Daytime weather, not a high base, but ok.
The final decision whether the Swiss Open will start on Tuesday (registration on Monday evening) or on Wednesday will be announced on Sunday, 8 pm.
