Wegen befürchtetem Abwind am Startplatz wurde der Start relativ früh angesetzt, wurde dann aber wegen starker mittelhoher Bewölkung (im Glarnerland regnete es) verzögert. Aber um 13 Uhr waren wohl alle gestartet und hatten eine Stunde Zeit, an die Basis auf über 3000 zu kommen. Der Task liess viele Optionen zu :-). Viele flogen wie erwartet zuerst auf der Nordseite (Südhänge) um auf dem zweiten Schenkel auf die Südseite zu wechseln, andere blieben auf der Nordseite, und einer, ganz alleine, startete auf 3600 über den Medelser-Gletschern und flog den ersten Teil des Task alleine ab: Markus Wicki erreichte das Goal als 3ter - Gratulation! Da die Verhältnisse im Verlauf des Nachmittags schlechter, stabiler wurden (erster Schönwettertag...) wurde das Rennen doch noch recht anspruchsvoll. Gewonnen hat es Steve Cox, vor Peter Vyparina (SVK) und eben Markus Wicki. Bei den Frauen Manuela Pfrunder vor Gina Gunzenhauser.

As we wrote yesterday, it's almost impossible to make a precise weather forecast in the flat pressure distribution. And so it was: beautiful weather in the morning, everyone thought, why don't we just go up? Then, right on time at 10 a.m., within 15 minutes there was cloud cover, storm, thunder and rain. After 20 minutes the spook was over and the fine-meshed model showed quite calm weather for midday, early afternoon. So: let's go up. But 5 minutes before most of us boarded the 11 o'clock gondola, the cancellation came: suddenly the forecast was for strong winds until around 2 o'clock. It came with good gusts on Caischavedra. Decision about going up at 10:00 METEO A partial low pressure system will now pass over to the north of Switzerland, bringing more humid and unstable air to the Alps. Quickly increasing cloud fields from the west, and passage of the mentioned partial low from 9-12 o'clock. Lots of high cloud and precipitation and possibly thunderstorms can be expected until midday. After that, there should be a longer dry phase, but with a lot of high cloud. Due to the extremely unstable air mass, it is likely that the stronger the radiation, the faster it will "boil up" again. The distance was too short (the weather better than feared), but the task was very tactical: the group that flew on the south side (including Breitinger) was faster at the turnaround at Brigels, but had a shadow on the way back and lost 10 minutes, the group that crossed to the north side after the start made up these 10 minutes, so that both crossed the finish line at the same time. Nach 3 spannenden Tagen geht mit heute die Schweizermeisterschaft 2024 im Hike and Fly zu Ende. Lars Meerstetter und Linda Hoch wurden die Goldmedaillen umgehängt. Herzliche Gratulation! Obwohl die Bedingungen nicht die einfachsten waren, haben sich die Athleten/Innen nichts schenken lassen. Drei Tage wurde um den Titel 2024 geschwitzt und gekämpft. Die Leistungsspitze war dicht beieinander, sodass gerade alle ersten 12 Athleten die einzelnen Tasks hätten für sich entscheiden können. Das machte den ganzen Wettbewerb extrem spannend. Gerade im letzten Task, konnten durch mutige Entscheide, die Top-3 Plätze nochmals neu aufgemischt werden. So hatten Lars Meerstetter, Nicolas Bourqui und Nicolas Heiniger den richtigen Riecher, indem sie sich, entgegen dem Rest entschieden, auf der Ostseite aufzusteigen, anstatt in Richtung Turnpoint Gibel oder Güpfi. Nicolas H. konnte daher den heutigen Task für sich gewinnen und machte gleich 3 Plätze vor bis auf den Silbermedaillen-Platz. Bei den Frauen hat Linda Hoch alle 3 Task gewonnen und sie wurde somit verdient Schweizermeisterin. Der Club Hagsflioh rund um OK-Chef Patrick von Wyl haben eine grandiose Schweizermeisterschaft mit tollem Rahmenprogramm auf die Beine gestellt. Der SHV möchte sich dafür herzlich bedanken. Der Plauschwettkampf vom Samstag darf besonders hervorgehoben werden. Es waren viele Zuschauer vor Ort und 15 Athleten/Innen haben sich unter nicht ganz einfachen Bedingungen sehr gut geschlagen. Die Schweizermeisterschaft wurde auch als internationaler Wettbewerb geführt. Es nahm, nebst den Schweizern, noch ein Amerikaner teil (siehe Overall-Ranking). Seit 2024 stellt die Disziplin H+F eine offizielle, vom internationalen Verband anerkannte Disziplin im Gleitschirmsport dar. Es ist erfreulich, dass die SM und auch viele weitere Schweizer Swiss Cup als internationale Events geführt werden, sodass die Schweizer Piloten/Innen Weltcuppunkte im nahen Umfeld sammeln können. Wir wünschen allen Athleten/Innen und dem OK gute Erholung und viele schöne Erinnerungen. Lars Meerstetter et Linda Hoch ont reçu les médailles d'or. Toutes nos félicitations ! Bien que les conditions n'aient pas été des plus faciles, les athlètes n'ont fait aucun cadeau. Pendant trois jours, ils ont sué et lutté pour le titre 2024. Les performances étaient très proches les unes des autres, si bien que les 12 premiers athlètes auraient pu remporter les différentes épreuves. Cela a rendu la compétition extrêmement passionnante. Lors de la dernière épreuve, des décisions courageuses ont permis de redistribuer les trois premières places. Ainsi, Lars Meerstetter, Nicolas Bourqui et Nicolas Heiniger ont eu le bon réflexe en décidant, contrairement aux autres, de monter par le côté ouest plutôt que vers le Turnpoint Güpfi. Nicolas H. a donc pu remporter la tâche d'aujourd'hui et a gagné 3 places jusqu'à la place de médaille d'argent. Chez les femmes, Linda Hoch a remporté les trois tâches et a donc mérité son titre de championne suisse. Le club Hagsflioh et le chef du comité d'organisation Patrick von Wyl ont mis sur pied des Championnats suisses grandioses avec un programme d'accompagnement formidable. La FSSF tient à les en remercier chaleureusement. La compétition pour le plaisir du samedi mérite une mention spéciale. Il y avait beaucoup de spectateurs sur place et 15 athlètes se sont très bien battus dans des conditions pas très faciles. Le championnat suisse a également été organisé en tant que compétition internationale. Outre les Suisses, un Américain y a participé (voir le classement général). Depuis 2024, la discipline H+F est une discipline officielle du parapente, reconnue par la fédération internationale. Il est réjouissant de constater que les CS et de nombreuses autres coupes suisses sont organisés en tant qu'événements internationaux, ce qui permet aux pilotes suisses de gagner des points de coupe du monde dans un environnement proche. Nous souhaitons à tous les athlètes et au comité d'organisation un bon repos et de bons souvenirs. Die Prognosen versprachen einen guten Temperaturgradient bis rund 2000 m und ein wenig Bise. Die meisten Liga-Pilot*innen starteten ab dem Weissenstein, eine kleine Fraktion versuchte sich in Vesancy. Auf dem 08:32 Zug ab Solothurn meinte manch einer, er wäre gerne eine Stunde länger im Bett geblieben und der Marsch zum Startplatz zog sich bei vielen in die Länge, doch "Parat si isch alles!" (N. L., 2016) - erste Regel des erfolgreichen Streckenfliegens. Und Philipp Aeschbach zeigte schliesslich vor, dass es schon vor 10 Uhr gut stieg! Viele flogen entlang der ersten Krete zwischen der Vue des Alpes und Olten. Einige zog es weiter Richtung Suchet, wo aber ein grosses Stück quasi blau war und die Bise sich bemerkbar machte beim tiefen Entlangkratzen. Die Vesancy-Fraktion hatte ebenfalls mit der Bise zu kämpfen, insbesondere da die Thermik im Westen tatsächlich etwas weniger hochreichend war. Philipp verbrachte ganze 10 Stunden in der Luft und holte sich den Tagessieg mit 195 km. Roland Schmid gelang sein erster 100er. Viele flogen zwischen 100 und 150 km. Gratulation an alle! The task was challenging. The inversion and the warm air advection probably contributed to this. The climb was often interrupted, the air didn't want to go up and the glide was sometimes poor. Because of that, there was probably a little bit more turbulence than we had hoped for. The westerly wind was also stronger than forecast. 33 pilots completed the task, many others were doomed in the last few kilometres. Those who didn't take the time to stay high glided into poorer layers, were unable to fly over the Muraun and found themselves next to the Garvera, which was only just enough for the final glider. Nach einer Nacht mit recht viel Regen startete der Tag trocken. Viele Wolken, etwas Westwind und tiefe Basen prägten den zweiten Wettkampftag. Die Athletinnen und Athleten hatten einen anspruchsvollen Task zwischen Meiringen und dem Vierwaldstättersee zu absolvieren. Ein Drittel des Feldes konnte den Task fertig fliegen. Neben einer Diskussion wegen einer empfohlenen Wildruhevereinbarung verlief der zweite Wettkampftag reibungslos und alle Athletinnen und Athleten hatten grossen Spass. Gewonnen hat bei den Damen Linda Hoch bei den Damen und Sebi Weber bei den Herren. Linda belegte dabei im Overallklassement den hervorragenden 9. Rang.
