Complice il caldo, la meteo non particolarmente entusiasmante, altre attività di volo già organizzate per la giornata, e prevedendo una scarsa partecipazione, annullo l'attività per questo weekend. C'è la possibilità di recuperare la giornata durante luglio ed agosto, probabilmente in Leventina se la meteo sarà interessante. Buona serata.

Wir sind mit 3 Schweizern angereist, Gernot, Hansjörg und ich. Als Vorbereitung hatte ich mal spontan die Flüge im Xcontest angeschaut und gestaunt, dass sie hier einen Wettkampf machen wollen, max Distanz bis jetzt 7 km. Tag 1: Die Lunchpakete sind ja unmöglich gut... Auffahrt mit der Sesselbahn um 9:00 Uhr danach gemütlich warten am Startplatz. Als das Startfenster fast offen war, wurde entschieden einen anderen Startplatz zu nehmen, also 100 Höhemeter hoch und flott raus. Leider waren wir (Schweizer) zu spät am Startzylinder, aber wir konnten eigentlich ganz gut aufholen. Als wir mit einer guten Höhe im Endanflug waren würde der Task auf Grund Gewitterneigung gestoppt. Wir sind trotzdem problemlos ins Ziel geglitten. Hier gibt's leider keine Punkte für die Höhe. Tag 2: Heute gingen wir zu einer anderen Sesselbahn, auf die Schattenseite von les 2 alpes. Der Start wurde verschoben auf Grund des Nordwindes und noch fehlender Thermik. Danach gings los und wir durften auf der Leeseite des gestrigen Startbergs Höhe machen. Bei der nächsten Talquerung hatten wir Hilfe von Geiern. Diesmal waren wir drei gut vorne dabei. Alle drei im Goal. Hansjörg unter den ersten Drei. Die Nachhausefahrt im Bus dauerte länger als der Flug.

Die Schweiz ist mit drei Piloten an den Island Open vertreten Daniela, Dieter und Niko. Weiter sind Canada, USA, Spanien , Niederlande, Deutschland und Frankreich vertreten. Nachdem der gestrige Tag von Dauerregen gezeichnet war, trafen wir uns heute morgen um 9:00 am HQ Camper bei Regen,Wind und Sonne im Wechsel. Die Organisation gibt einen Ort Skogarfoss , welcher 130 km entfernt ist als nächstes Briefing aus. Dort angekommen waren dei Bedingungen nicht taskfähig, also weiter nach Vik ein wunderschönen Küstenort mit einem mega Startplatz.Versammlung am Fussballplatz, so dass Alle auf die 4x4 Fahrzeuge verteilt werden können, welche in Island am besten geeignet sind als Fortbewegungsmittel. Es wir ein 27.5 km Task ausgeschrieben. Start um 15:30 Ortszeit. Schnell machen sich alle parat und sind schnell aufgesoart. Erste Boje einfach 300 meter vom Start dann weiter ohne Thermik, soaren an verschiedenen Ridges. Alles geht sehr zäh. Ich entschliesse mich mit max höhe (400m) loszufräsen,und erreiche einmal kräftig durchgeschüttelt nach der Querung als erster eine andere Ridge oberhalb eines breiten Tals. Auf Schafhöhe angekommen zwänge ich mich wieder auf 300 meter und fliege dann weiter. Mittlerweile kommen auch die Anderen und so geht es dann weiter bis ich einmal unterhalb Schafhöhe in einem Sumpfland landen durfte. Soweit ich bis jetzt weiss ist 1. Person im Goal. Dieter hat leider schon bei der ersten Querung Probleme bekommen und musste Landen. Daniela und Wouter sind später über mich geflogen und ca. 6 km vor dem Goal gelandet. Durch die dreistündige Autorückholaktion und dann nach 200 km Heimweg Tracks uploaden werden die Ergebnisse noch auf sich warten lassen. Organisation ist super, Leute meganett und die Szenerie exotisch. Hoffen wir auf Flugwetter morgen

Sabato: vento in montagna sostenuto dal settore ovest, ca. 30 kmh a 2000m. Instabile con temporali dal pomeriggio. Domenica: coperto al mattino e probabile entrata di un po' di vento da nord nel pomeriggio in montagna. Più in basso ancora vento da ovest moderato. Forse si potrà volare a Cimetta ma é certo che il vento da ovest darà fastidio, non vedo molte possibilità per una task. Aggiornamento e decisione venerdì in serata.

Finally great conditions, but...task stopped An early takeoff was the best option today because the wind became stronger and stronger and the takeoff was rapidly not more possible for a lot of pilots. The race was stopped, what a pity. We were at cloud base and the clouds streets looks great! Then all the gaggle fly back to AO1 where a grill party was organized.

Finally a racing day! Takeoff was organised following overall ranking so Simon and Yanick had to launch on the dangerous alternative upper take off to avoid waiting line... The task lead us at the beginning to the north, then back to Niskabangja and then zigzagging south down the valley to Lebane via four turn points. 3 or 4 pilots escape in the front followed from more gaggles. One of the best placed gaggle choose the "mountain" line (a ridge with trees) but was not reward and a lot of top pilots there landed early. The other gaggles took the flats lines and keep go on until the last turnpoint where they fusionned. A low save (av. 60 m ?, 40 m if we rely in the other french pilot involved) at last tunrnpoint cost me a lot of time. Then one thermals and good line could lead all to goal.

Today no pilots in goal. A lot of shadows make it impossible. Yael belongs to the few survivors and was able to catch some points. PWC report Today we went to a higher take-off in the Svrljiske Mountains east of Nish. A 90 km task was set with three legs which zigzagged in front of launch, followed by a long leg south east, to just past Pirot. The conditions initially looked good with blue skies and nice cumulous. Launch set a new Paragliding World Cup record for launching 120 pilots, 1 by 1, in a lot less than 120 minutes. Sadly the conditions deteriorated and shady cycles put virtually all the pilots on the ground little after turn point three, half way round the course, after 45 km. Today’s big star was Yury Mishanin who, from turn point 2, took a completely different route. After turn point 3, he flew a further 18 km in the big mountains to the east of the turn point.

Es kann sich jeder auf www.swissleague.ch registrierte Pilot zu jeder Zeit anmelden, unabhängig, ob er in der XC-League ist oder nicht. Das System akzeptiert zur Zeit Spot oder LT24.

Ce dimanche nous nous sommes déplacés à Evolène pour profiter des conditions de vol. Une manche de 47 km a été lancée dans des conditions plutôt ventilées puisque la bise n'était pas encore totalement tombée lors du start à 13h30. Après deux zig zag le long de la crêtes en direction de la Dent Blanche, la balise suivante nous emmène en direction de Bela Tola. Deux options pour cette branche : assurer suffisamment d'altitude pour traverser directement en direction de Zinal et revenir ou longer le relief pour prendre la balise au Crêt du Midi. Gaël prend la première option, Basile la deuxième. Les traces nous diront laquelle sera la meilleure. Les deux bouclent la manche, pour les autres, les conditions de début de manche ont été les plus fortes. Bravo à nos deux jeunes espoirs.

Today it was not raining, so we went up on the take off for the first task. We could see that there was unfortunately quite a lot of wind, the clouds were all blown. They set a zigzag task of 69 km. After the take off, it was not so easy to climb and once in the air we really saw that it was windy. Coming back of the start was already sketchy, going very slow, thermalling up in the shadow and finishing in the back... After that it was either take on the ridge and face the wind just at the end to get the turnpoint or getting towards the wind all the time. The second option worked well and so i caught up the group. When we turned the turnpoint, we were going at 80km/h. And then again the flat or the mountains, we took the mountains but the flat was again a bit better. Anyway, everybody bombed out at this time, landed going backwards, it was pretty strong. After 45 min on the ground, 3 pilots came over our head at cloudbase. They managed to go further than everybody else, but still no one at goal. Well hope tomorrow there is less wind! See you

As expected the first days was canceled due to rain and wind. So we went to the local car exposition and checked out the dark trade possibilities.

The rather small swiss team containing of Simon Bonfadelli, Yael Margelisch and Yanick Lettry arrived well in in the town of Niš on Friday evening. Due to frontal weather the training day was cancelled and probably tomorrow will be cancelled as well. But from monday we expect good weather again and we will hopefully have 5 taskable days ahead. The meet director already anounced, that if we will fly to the turnpoints northwards of the city we will have to cross the CTR of Niš airport, but it's not gonna be a problem, as he is going to tell as the good route through. For all the competition tasks we will also be followed by three mountain rescue teams on our flights to goal. The race organisation thought about everything :) Until now they really made a good impression. All meetings on time and perfectly organised. We even got free SIM cards with internet on arrival.

Am ersten Tag Rückseitenwetter, sehr labil, es konnte gebolz werden. Michel Maurer gewinnt diesen lauf souverän vor Christoph Truttmann und Jan Sterren. Am 2. Tag stabil - warten und Geduld waren angesagt. Auch hier gewinnt Michel Maurer vor Chrigel und Pädel soverän.

Provisional Rankings

Der erste Task entlang der Niesenkette nach Adelboden und zurück konnte der Sieger in 1h32min abgeflogen werden. In Adelboden war es nicht einfach, von der Boje Sillerenbühl zurück gegen den Talwind anzukommen. Wer diese Schlüsselstelle meisterte, konnte sich von nennen! Nach Michael machten sich Christoph, Jan, Chrigel und Andy die Top 5 aus...

Im Link sind die Waypoints für den swiss Cup Frutigen. Bitte beachtet die Regelungen am Flugplatz Reichenbach. Gemäss Veranstalter soll der Flugplatz allerdings nicht aktiv sein: Folgende Abmachungen sollen DRINGEND eingehalten werden: --Der Flugplatz Reichenbach DARF NICHT ÜBERFLOGEN WERDEN. --Blindmeldungen an den Flugplatz Reichenbach fr den Überflug sind nicht erlaubt. --Längs der Landepiste sind neu jeweils nur 1.5km Distanz einzuhalten (anstatt der 5km nach Segelflugkarte). --Nördlich der Talstation (talabwärts) der Niesenbahn AG und sdlich des Tropenhaus Frutigen (talaufwärts) ist die Talquerung erlaubt. Unten ist auch die neue Infotafel "Niesen" verlinkt.
